Suzanne Pavlat

VIRGINIA BEACH -- Suzanne Pavlat, 11, died Aug. 12, 2001 at her residence. Born in Norfolk, she was a graduate of Thoroughgood Elementary School. She was a member of Little Creek Amphibious Base Protestant Chapel and Girl Scout
Troop No. 166. She has touched many lives through her appearance in the St. Jude movie, ``A Time to Live,'' and by being the poster child for Bruce Rader's Golf Tournament for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. She helped with many fundraisers for the Ronald McDonald House in Memphis and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Survivors include her parents, Jack and Barbara Pavlat of Virginia Beach; maternal grandparents, Alice and Wilford Ashbaugh of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; paternal grandparents, Richard and Mary Jessie Pavlat of Redgranite, Wis.; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many special friends. A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. today in Little Creek Amphibious Base Chapel by Chaplain Fred Rothermel. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is in charge. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations
may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Virginia Beach Branch, 582 Lynnhaven Parkway, Suite 101, Virginia Beach, VA 23452, or to Edmarc Hospice for Children, P.O. Box 2105, Chesapeake, VA 23327.
